15 Purposes of Any Kinds of Writing

We write to serve various ends. And any kind of writing should serve one or some of the following purposes:
(1) To inform
(2) To explain
(3) To narrate
(4) To evaluate
(5) To argue
(6) To describe
(7) To justify
(8) To evoke
(9) To analyse
(10) To report
(11) To reflect
(12) To instruct
(13) To tell
(14) To comment
(15) To persuade

We write personal letters, business letters, memoirs, essays, dissertations, newspaper articles, reports, speeches, reviews, Lesson notes, and the like for the aim of serving these purposes.
