(1) It is used to emphasise adjectives. It is used to emphasise adjectives like right, amazing, stupid, fantastic, etc in spoken English.
Examples:
He is absolutely right 
The show was absolutely amazing 
It's an absolutely stupid idea 
Absolutely fantastic 
(2) It is used to say that you completely agree with someone or something. 
Examples
A. Are you coming with me? 
B. Absolutely! 
A. Shall we begin? 
B. Absolutely! 
(3) It is used to show a strong disagreement with someone or preventing someone from doing something: 
Examples
A. Do you know where he lives? 
B. Absolutely not! 
A. Can you agree with what they say about you? 
B. Absolutely not!
