INTRODUCTION OF THE PLAY

The play is about an African man with westernised graduate who marries Afro-American woman. They both study at one American University. When they graduate, the man comes back to African with her and he is determined to marry her despite the opposition he gets from his African family, clan and tribal members.  


The central theme of this play is the clash between two cultures or generations: Ato, who belongs to young generation supports Family Planning and other trends of modern generation while his mother, EsiKom who belongs to old generation, believes that Family Planning is impossible no human being should decide when to have children because that is the works of God Himself, not a human being. EsiKom and others who do not support modern things are against many ideas posed by Modern generation.
